while farming ZA last night for the bearmount, the guild-talk turned towards diablo 3. we know it won't be an MMO but still the havok physics system was a new g-f/x system we were dying for. blizz will install it in WoW : WotLK but we'll get a taste of in D3 (altho AoC uses havok already).
blizz has simply traded spells and g-f/x animation between its characters. the D3 barbarian above has similar animation with a WoW warr-tauren combo. damnit i love the whirlwind. it will be a long and arduous solo, hence they still have battle.net up, for those who don't want to play with themselves.
i think the blizz strat is, MMORPG = WoW, RTS = SC2 and D3 = new g-f/x + old bird's eye view. we all thought the view would change, but no. with WoW they cornered the biggest slice of the MMORPG pie (52%) and soon the RTS pie when SC2 is unleashed, with D3, it will be used to pull back blizz fans who have gone astray and playing 2nd tier non-blizz games.
for those wanting a D3 MMO, play GW, the director of Guild Wars is the same person who did D1 and D2. but i know you're a blizz fan. heh.

^ you have to sacrifice one toon, level 55+ at least. i got a mage, lock and shaman ready. unless you have a char you spent months leveling and don't want to give up. you better start grinding one now.

@toodles - the paladin (holy or prot specc) is the hardest to kill in WoW, still arthas rerolled a death knight. hahahah. we can't wait to kill arthas in the next expansion. we've killed everyone from magtheridon to prince kaelthas, from sylvanas windrunner to lady vashj. we still have to hurdle illidan, the fucker is just too hard with lazy raiders in the guild. heh.
while AoC is getting boring, warhammer online is getting to be good, though not up to GW pvp balance goodness.
