the previous set of avatars are divided into three regions, the hair and forehead; the eyes and nose; and the lips and chin part.
we can follow the same pattern though.

I'm pretty darnn sure I'm not the only one who missed the old avatars; and if for some reason or another, they can't be brought back easily, would it be better if we contribute our designs and just pick the ones we like to be part of the avatar system?
Here's how i think it could work: by setting all the specs and letting anyone submit their entries (hmm...in the form of a contest?)
Example Specs:
size: 130 x 130 pixels
anchor points for hair: 30,90 and 100, 90
etc.
or an image with the feature boundaries encircled as a guideline that anyone can just paste their design into to make it easier.
I understand that it's time consuming to create a whole set of images among 1 or 2 people; but this could be a lot faster and easier if anyone can submit their designs and more people get into the act.

if i had a creative bone in my body, and maybe an ounce of artistic talent, i would soooo volunteer. but as it is, i think it's best if i keep out of this project and just wish those with both sufficient talent and creativity the best. :p
the price for the winner would be no other than zaira...^_^
*sa wakas naalala ko na name nya*
@chet lol ano nangyari? nakakita ka ng star no?
this is a good suggestion. sana me magvolunteer.
I had the same idea in mind, but then it'd be quite a bit hard to get a uniform look among the designs, so we can't be quite sure of their interchangability.
now i know.. sa likod ng mga tala may nagkukubling rasta :D
magvolunteer na mga pogi :D
andameng talentadong tao dito. kaya ilabas na ang mga creativejoozes nyo. :D
If I had an art talent, I would gladly help, I have all the time in the world!
Anyway, ping me if this pulls through just tell me on how I can help.

>> how about making a template first?
i remember luis asking the community to do something like this some years ago. he sent the avatar templates to us but, unfortunately, i deleted it in my inbox.(well, what could i do, it wasn't pr0n) so, anybody here who's a member since 2003 who knows the shit i'm talking about?
I'm an artist but as far as I know the avatars are pixel arts that I don't have the skill. Though I can contribute some designs then let pixel artist do the final avatars.
I think this work will require a group effort.
The avatars were a lot more work than people thoguht they were. Even just collecting these from people and sorting them out might be a chore. I'm sure it's something luis has thought of before.
Who knows, if you all whine enough he might bring it back, just like highfiber. :P
I'm sure if Luis wanted anyone's help he would've asked for it.
we need avatars!
i think you guys need to pat me so i can put more we-need-avatars comments so that the Luis will be moved by our cause.
i am a huge piece of beef. pat me to make patties. hihi
I explained this a little on my blog already, but I'll just copy the comment here so everyone knows what's up:

Couple of problems bringing back the interchangeable avatars. Firstly, I’ve lost all of the original production art due to a series of hard disk crashes. All I have are the final, compressed PNGs. Secondly, new avatars are incredibly time-consuming to produce. I doubt I would ever have time to make any new ones, and the classic ones were getting kinda old.
I haven’t really decided how to approach the whole avatar system with regards the patting/poking mechanics. Maybe a different solution altogether will present itself as we start to get into double-zero more.
