but we're getting off subject.
i'm all for preserving the integrity and quality of the older highfiber versions. i was once a noob myself, and have made some mistakes only true noobs can make (such as posting a thread about my grades in all my excitement to contribute, lol). but the members have been forgiving and friendly, and with the community;s collective intelligence, wit, sarcasm, slight hostility, and all that other good stuff, i learned their ways quickly enough. :P
now, this is not to say that one should conform, and surrender one's individuality; or that what is popular should ultimately sway one's actions. but really. the way i see it, you come into a community (and stay) because you feel somehow that the community has qualities that represent yourself. or even that you feel a sense of belonging to the community.
if that isn't the case, then it would probably be best for all parties involved if you refrained from participating. especially if you can't (try as you might) contribute anything worthwhile. :(
i applaud the effort that you've put forth by starting this thread though. and that being said, i do agree with your wishes that we members be more mindful of our comments and contributions. mindful not in a way that would compromise our thoughts and individuality, but in the sense that we express ourselves with respect and care for our fellow members.
( lol, as if. i've never been one to flame, as i'm generally a very peaceful being. but i do find people debating whilst calling each other rude names extremely amusing. so as johnny storm of the fantastic four says: "flame on!" :P)
