is the private server your using good? blizzlike xp? or multiplier xp?
I stopped playing world of warcraft last year after buffing a holy human priest with the best it can get (Wowbc time).

(Kristo, Human Holy Priest, Full Tier 6, socketed, full buffed)
A few hours ago I, just finished installing the latest installment of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lichking which was released a few days ago, November 13, 08.

Here's a guide for those who wanna play..
----------
WHAT IS WORLD OF WARCRAFT?
Wow as a lot have called it is one of the most successful massive multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) on the planet. It has sprung over 8 billion players world wide.
First released on November 2004 by blizzard. Same firm that gave us Starcraft and Diablo.

For those who know the popular game Defense of the Ancients (Dota), the characters you use there are the same NPCs found in WOW.

HOW CAN I PLAY?
There are a few ways to enjoy this game. First is the legit way of playing on the blizzard servers with a monthly fee.
Official Blizzard Account Registration
Another way is for you to make your own private server using your pc. I haven't personally tried doing this but here is something to start with:
How to Make a Private WOW Server
Ultimately if money and the technical mumbo jumbos get you scratching your head .. playing on a private server will be your ultimate recourse.
INSTALLATION OF WRATH OF THE LICHKING
Before I start, just remember "Patience is a virtue"
Pre-requisite:
1. You need to have installed Both installments of World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft + Burning Crusade + patches [2.3.3 enGB].torrent.torrent - 5 gig
Official Blizzard Download Page
After installation of both expansions make sure that you have ver 2.3.3 on the lower corner of the splash screen.

2. System Requirements (Windows)
OS: Windows XP (Service Pack 3), Windows Vista (Service Pack 1)
Processor: Minimum: Intel Pentium 4 1.3 GHz or AMD Athlon XP 1500+
Recommended: Dual-core processor, such as the Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 X2
Memory: Minimum: 512 MB RAM (1GB for Vista users)
Recommended: 1 GB RAM (2 GB for Vista users)
Video: Minimum: 3D graphics processor with Hardware Transform and Lighting with 32 MB VRAM Such as an ATI Radeon 7200 or NVIDIA GeForce 2 class card or better

Official Blizzard Requirements
_____
Starting point:
I am currently using this:
Dell Inspiron 6400 dual core, 2 gig mem, 50gig free space, Ati Radeon video card. 10mbs broadband and have already installed the previous versions of WOW.
It took me 5 hours to download the WOTK and another 5 hours to install it:
1. After the updates of the patches. Download the "Wrath of the Lich King"

Suggestive Download Sites:
http://extratorrent.com/torrent/1574442/WoW+TBC+to+Wrath+of+the+Lich+King+(3.0.3+to+WOTLK).html

http://www.torrentz.com/278c18051dd921d41b67a76d9750da46a675d233
Official Blizzard Download Site
(FYI: I used the Mininova torrent - 2gig)

2. Select the installer.exe and click install then wait ..
The installer is only half of the whole content, so you need an internet connection to download the rest. 4.1 gig in total.
3. The first installation is version 3.0.1 but the latest version is already 3.0.3 so it will automatically download the patch from Blizzard.
PLAYING ON A PRIVATE SERVER
1. After tedious searching, I found only one compatible private server hosting the latest WOTLK.

Register a free account on http://masterroot.de/wotlkacccre/
(There are tons of other private servers and these instructions apply as well)
2. Now you need to direct your game to the private server's realm.

Go to the Folder that you installed your World of Warcraft and open the "realmlist.wtf" with your NOTEPAD.
Mine is located at "C:\World of Warcraft\Data\enUS\realmlist.wtf"

Change the realmlist to - set realmlist masterroot.de:1410 and save.
3. Open the World of Warcraft Icon on your desktop, enter your account details and LOGIN

Click on "DEVELOPMENT REALM" and create your character

Here's a picture of the Arthas "the lichking" when you choose the Deathknight hero class.
Please let us know if you find other WOTLK private blizz like servers. Meanwhile, let's just play here for awhile.
See you in Northrend!!

(** Note that private servers are no way like official blizzard servers, if you want the real wow experience try the 10 day trial account)
Enjoy :)
