You know, I wrote a pretty lengthy analysis on this doomsday eschaton back in February. The precise cause of the apocalypse is unknown, and are all just theories. The Mayans themselves had no idea what would happen on that date, they just said that it would be the end of a cycle.

all we need to do is call all the tibetan monks and start chanting using giant speakers or maybe we could all build a ginormous tibetan bowl and let the sacred sound vibrate through space and prevent this alignment or maybe a synchronized chinese jump could help...

Well, I did look up the background information on this. According to the Mayan calendar, we are currently living in the 4th creation cycle where man came into this world. I think 2012 would mean a new cycle of creation. Does this mean a new and higher evolved species is coming? Mutants and the Age of Apocalypse lol.

Seriously though, the claim that this is backed up by science is a bit too dubious. If that was the case, the media should be all over this by now. Unless there's a conspiracy where governments are silencing the people, much like in the series finale of the X-Files.
But that would be stretching it too much, I guess.

I remembered hearing and somewhat watching, i was half-asleep, something about the cycles in a video my younger brother's watching. it involves the zodiac signs, that we're now in the era of pisces, blah-blah.. most prophecies that were claimed as signs of the nearing end were truly happening as the email i received proves, lollerz! europe having one currency, the vatican becoming an independent nation, the continuous bombing on Israel, etc.
Don't mind me..I'm bored.. i'd snap back after my boredom wears off..

Well, prophets, priests, mystics and all other crackpots of all kinds have been predicting the end of the world probably long before fire was discovered. They all seem to be referring to a different date though. Why people still believe in these things after thousands of years of unfulfilled prophecy is probably the bigger question.

I used to obsess about this during highschool, try going to exitmundi.nl it compiled all possible endof world scenarios...at least when the world ends we can choose how it does it.
Maybe I'll start drinking on December 20 2012 so when tomorrow comes I'll be too plastered to care...

this is a stupid horse shit prediction!
just like what everybody else says.. the future hasn't been written yet.. it might even change by a split second or even the alignment doesn't even affect anything.. we will just be as optimistic as everyone else and everything will be fine..
and why do someone believes to this crap? they believe in doomsday but they don't even predict a good prophecy, like maybe oil prices might go down and our president will give half his wealth to the poor on december 21, 2012 and everybody will benefit or something like that..
all i'm saying is have faith to good things and ignore predictions like this

another theory about 2012 that i've read is not about this alignment but actually about a massive planet with 3600 years orbit...and it's now approaching..........and we're all gonna die.....die....die!!!!!
