DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/16 July) – The Philippine government and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) have settled all the contentious issues on ancestral domain and are now preparing to convene the formal peace talks to sign the memorandum of agreement on the ancestral domain agenda, the government and MILF peace panel chairs told MindaNews.

“Ok na. Thank God!,” government peace panel chair Rodolfo Garcia, told MindaNews from Kuala Lumpur, where the two panels are holding an executive session comprising the panel chairs and two other representatives each.
“Finally we have settled all the remaining issues on ancestral domain,” MILF peace panel chair Mohagher Iqbal said.
Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Hermogenes Esperon, Jr., told MindaNews the two chairs are signing the minutes of the executive session and “hopefully within the next 10 days” formal peace talks can resume so the MOA on ancestral domain can be signed and the talks can now focus on the contents of the “final” peace agreement.
Esperon said the lone contentious issue on the use of the word “freedom” was resolved by just saying “address the aspirations of the Bangsamoro people.”
He said “freedom” was already included in the June 22, 2001 Tripoli Agreement on Peace between the parties.
Section 2 of the Security Aspect of the agreement, states that the “negotiation and peaceful resolution of the conflict must involve consultations with the Bangsamoro people free of any imposition in order to provide chances of success and open new formulas that permanently respond to the aspirations of the Bangsamoro people for freedom.” (Carolyn O. ^yeah, the government shouldn't have negotiated with the MILF in the first place. correct me if i'm wrong, but as far as i know the product of MNLF is ARMM. MILF is a breakaway group from MNLF dahil me mga kulang (daw) sa ARMM. this will never end. gusto nilang magsarili pero they're not even fit to lead themselves out of poverty.
kailan ba makukuntento ang mga rebelde/tao na yan? the government should have known better, it will never happen.

its according to what have planned - konting kiliti lang yan magkakaroon ng pederalismo sa mindanao at mga US army ang idedeploy ni gma not to combat those insurgents (sisiw lang mga yan) but to have a US base in the phils. in case china will fuck up and wage war against everyone including the US.

maybe its the current gov't way of extending GMA's term (no way step down ASAP :D)... Masyadong biglaan ang decision nila na mag karoon ng a "state" with in a "state".... hindi man lang tayo inabisuhan (PINOY) ng maaga... what are they doing with our TAX! they spend our money for nothing.

i agree with wicked1925.. hindi lang naman MILF ang may gusto na may controlled state sila.. malaki talaga ang chance na pati NPA e makisali sa trend na nangyayari since alam na nila na pwede nang ma-uto ung gobyerno natin.. mas mahirap un kasi mas malaki ang sakop ng mga NPA.. pero ok n din kung sakali kasi sabi ng dad ko, may mga katropa daw sya dun.. finance manager daw nila sya.. asteeg.. hahahaha

This is all fucked up! Do you know what you call a group that threatens (and actually pulls off) catastrophic events like war if their demands are not met? Fucking terrorists. The Philippine government is giving in to the MILF, a bunch of terrorists. Sensible people in Zamboanga and Iligan, get the fuck outta there once this shit gets signed!
