Every time I wake up, get home or go to sleep I never fail to visit this site. I scourge every post, sometimes when I like something I read I save on my personal drive just in case the site goes down. And every time I leave the site, exit my browser, shuts down my computer it always leaves a feeling that goes down deep into my soul – it rejuvenates me.

Reading articles and short stories from strangers (be it original or plagiarized) is like drinking an elixir from the silver cup. Every topic is thought stimulating, moral boundaries are crossed, flames were started. Threads are not one sided, every opinion was countered by the other, it was a real discussion. I suppose that's how HiFi started, a social experiment for the deviants.

And it was a joy to see deviants appear like mushrooms. These deviants were given choices to categorize themselves. I for one categorized myself as a prick and I dared not to post anything for the fear I might get burned or rejected, so I just lurked from the shadows and drank from the knowledge that other deviants offered. And of course I always pass by the kleenex section.

And then came a time I dared – I posted an article under the section of “LUV” and it was greatly admired and accepted by all. I beamed, I was overjoyed by the outcome of some mere construction of words and some artistic arrangement to it. And then I started to post by bits, a little rant here, a little luv there.

It was HiFi and the community that made me realize that I could possibly write a decent article. A decent short story. And then I started learning from the community, especially with vectors. There came a time that the site was flooded with vector works. Everyday new arts were posted, I was ecstatic; as to compare it to sex it was an orgasmic burst of intellect and arts.

HiFi taught me a lot of things: a revelation in writing, upgrade and improve my digital capabilities, it gave me the comic section that brought me back to track with the marvel universe. Special mention to Wapski. No I don't know the dude. Luv section always remind me of chelsea. I don't know her either but I know that she's from where I'm from. (I always admire those things people write in the love section – if anyone can remember the articles Harakiri and Seppuku please send me or link me a copy)

I never get to thanked the community for the knowledge they have imparted to me. And for this I thank you geeks for your unconditional FYIs and other useful information, blogs or otherwise. Pricks for their witty and nonsense remarks. Jocks and Cheerleaders for well... being the people that you are.

HiFi was introduced to me by a friend when we were too lazy to review for an exam. Three years ago that was and as I went back to the shadows I watched how in proper terms the community “evolved”... trends were followed, just because it got the most pat. One naked picture got patted so another one is posted and so forth until it became like I'm visiting a porn site. threads diminished as well and then the comments followed. I was greatly saddened – that the community that taught me so many things could have gone to something like HiFi Zero. And HiFi unceremoniously vanished...

“...and lo and behold like a phoenix rising from the ashes it was reborn! And the people cheered, the people gathered and rejoiced for the lost has been found again.”

Yet I find myself parched.

The silver cup diminished.

The elixir but a puddle.

Most people that write a long time ago are either to busy or not just in a mood to write. I share some of your sentiments, but give it time. It's not like a phoenix gets reborned and becomes a great firebird which scorches everything on its path right then and there. It needs to replenish its flames and grow them again, little by little.

Yep, we do need more threads. Articles, essays, short stories. Filling up the silver cup. But who am I to talk anyway? I am guilty for contributing mostly images and videos, and no threads. I was hoping that in the thread section the others would be the ones to fill, and I'm still waiting. Perhaps all it needs is a little push, for the little baby phoenix to slowly open up its wings and be not afraid to fly.

... you know what, I think Hifi 6 had the same lackage of good writers but it stood afloat. perhaps because of the after glow of the last versions?

in any case, someone will come up sooner or later.

i think the reason this place became tame is because of the community policing the site. emos are crucified, stupidity bobbed in an acid bath. or, these are all just trends.

much like the vector art pieces back then anyone remember?

one other thing. it's because the hifi community is pretty much solidified. we all know each other somewhat, heck we call each other by avatar names ... and that sort of alienates most newcomers. far from being a social network (?) and welcome to nooblets, this place ain't exactly looking like honey to bears.

want more threads and stuff? get more people in ;) sooner or later we could have the next halo8, or leelock, or whatever they are called in the virtual universe

people will never be contented. i guess thats how man is.. wired to be inquisitive. always searching for, like what hq said, whatevs.

im not sure if youre trying to look for the old stuff that you had then, which of course we cant restore, or youre implying that the current hifi isnt just good enough.

^Well, every version of Highfiber is different from the other.

Like what Luis said before, he's making us the guinea pigs of every version. He said he'll experiment on this version and what may turn up will turn up. But, uh, I don't see the log and updates just below the control panel no more. So is this final, or are we still on beta? or alpha?
