Riddle me this... Riddle me that... Who's afraid of the new Black Bat?

I personally think that the new Batman movie is nothing short of brilliant. Even if Joker (Heath Ledger), God bless his soul, took the spotlight away from Batman. I couldn't keep my eyes off him, I found myself hanging on his every word. . The shadowy transformation was phenomenal. The new Joker felt like he came out of a blank rethink of Frank Millers "Dark Knight". The Joker was supercalifragilistic! But Ledgers Joker was totally different from Jack Nicholsons joker, Tim Burton's "Batman" (1989). You couldn't and shouldn't compare them. They're on totally different playing fields.

Solid props to Christopher Nolan for not having one dull scene.
The whole movie was pure adrenaline. My favorite film of the year thus far.
Gotham was dark and dangerous. The plot was hypnotic and superb. I didn't even notice it was two and a half hours long.

Although I personally think that the whole frog in the throat voice thing that Wayne does when he's Batman is too much. I scratch my throat every time I hear him speak. I respect the whole transformation and contrast thing that they were trying to do but maaan... I mean, MAAAN! It just didn't work for me. Don't get me wrong, I love the way Batman was portrayed as a dark and human crusader trying to come to terms with his conscience and evidently differentiate what should be done from what has to be done..

The thing that took me aback was the Dent to "Two-Face" transformation, it was like a baffling soap opera script... a Don Juan from Hell. The Count from Mount Mephisto!
.
But, overall the film is a must see hit! A Stellar performance from everyone involved! Although I wasn't really sold with the whole Gordon monologue "...he's the Dark Knight." Come on. Quit while you're ahead why dontcha.

Well, I'm glad i didn't buy the pirated DVD. It was worth the wait. But, after seeing it on the big screen, I think I might get a pirated copy. so....("F" YOU Bong Revilla!!!! Mr. anti-piracy)

Yeah. I think Christian Bale is trying hard to make his voice scary.

P.S. Si Edu ang murahin natin siya na VRB chairman ngayon eh, lolz.

At first, I was also annoyed by the Batman's voice.

However, I think it was necessary to do that in order to ground the movie to reality. People always wonder why Clark Kent can't be recognized as Superman when he only has glasses to cover his face. Well, for Batman, there's his mask and to further protect his identity, he changes his voice. Not to some James Earl Jones-esque baritone, but to an actual distorted voice.

    So that works for me...

Still, I think the movie is way too long. And the transformation of Harvey Dent was too fast ala Anakin to Darth Vader. I also don't believe for one second that Harvey would not kill Joker. Damn his coin and his twisted principles, Joker killed Rachel and burned half his face. When Harvey said to Eric Roberts (forgot his character name) - "The Joker's just a mad-dog. I want whoever let him off the leash.", that felt forced to me. I don't buy it for one second. Hello?!?! Why is Harvey exonerating Joker?!?! Makes no sense to me...
